🌿 Baby Aglaonema Care Guide
(Chinese Evergreen)
Aglaonemas are beautiful, hardy houseplants known for their striking foliage and easy-going nature. When they’re young, they benefit from a little extra consistency and gentle care while establishing.
🌞 Light
Prefers bright, indirect light
Tolerates medium to low light, though growth may slow
Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch delicate baby leaves
Variegated varieties will need slightly brighter light to maintain colour
💧 Watering
Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feels dry
Use room-temperature water
Water thoroughly until it drains from the bottom
Never allow the pot to sit in standing water
✨ Tip: Baby Aglaonemas prefer being slightly dry over being overwatered.
🌱 Soil
Use a well-draining indoor potting mix.
An ideal blend includes:
Quality potting soil
Perlite or pumice for airflow and drainage
A small amount of coco coir or peat for moisture balance
🪴 Pot Size
Keep babies in a small pot (2–4 inches) with drainage holes
Oversized pots hold excess moisture and may lead to root rot
Repot only once roots begin to outgrow the current pot
🌡 Temperature & Humidity
Ideal temperature: 18–29°C (65–85°F)
Avoid cold drafts or temps below 15°C
Enjoys moderate humidity but adapts well to normal indoor conditions
Optional: mist occasionally or use a pebble tray
🌿 Fertilizer
Feed lightly during spring and summer
Use a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer at ½ strength
Fertilize every 4–6 weeks
Pause feeding in autumn and winter
✂️ General Maintenance
Wipe leaves gently with a damp cloth to remove dust
Remove any yellow or damaged leaves with clean scissors
Rotate the pot occasionally for even growth
🐛 Pests to Watch For
Keep an eye out for:
Spider mites
Mealybugs
Scale
Treat early with neem oil or insecticidal soap if needed.
⚠️ Pet Safety
Aglaonema is toxic if ingested, so keep out of reach of pets and small children.

All plants are carefully prepared and packaged to ensure they arrive safely and in excellent condition.
Orders are lovingly packed and dispatched on Mondays only, to help ensure they arrive before the following weekend, as our shop is closed on Tuesdays.
To ensure same-week dispatch, orders must be placed by midnight Sunday.
If Monday falls on a public holiday, dispatch will not take place until the following Monday. While we always do our best to send orders promptly, should any unexpected lengthy delays occur, we’ll be in touch to let you know.
Shipping Options
At checkout, you can choose between the following postage options:
Bare Root Shipping (Most Economical Option):
Most soil is removed to reduce weight, and roots are securely wrapped in either sphagnum moss or damp shredded paper. This is the most cost-effective way to ship plants.
Potted Shipping (Where Possible):
Plants may also be sent in their original nursery pots with soil intact. Shipping for this option is calculated by weight and will be more expensive. However, plants generally arrive with less stress and there is no need to pot them up on arrival.
Simply select your preferred shipping method at checkout.
Please note: Due to plant import restrictions, we are only able to ship to WA, NT, or TAS if prior arrangements have been made.
