The Growing Media We Use Ourselves
The included Coco Perlite Blend is the exact substrate we use for our own newly deflasked tissue culture plants.
It provides an excellent balance of moisture retention, drainage and aeration, creating a light and consistent root environment while delicate tissue culture plants adjust from sterile laboratory conditions to normal growing conditions.
Once your plants are ready to progress, the included 90mm clear pots and wicks allow you to create a simple wicking setup, helping maintain more consistent moisture while the plants continue establishing.
What Comes Next?
Once your plants have developed a strong root system, there are a couple of easy pathways you can take.
For traditional substrate growing, we recommend progressing into our Premium Indoor Plant Mix, available separately. This is a blend of Coco Perlite with composted fine bark, vermiculite and horticultural charcoal, making the transition from the initial acclimation media gradual and low stress.
As the plant matures, you can begin adding some of our chunkier substrate to the mix, gradually creating the ideal growing conditions for a larger, established plant.
Alternatively, because your plant is already accustomed to a light, well-aerated substrate and a wicking system, transitioning into a semi-hydro setup is another easy option.
