🌿 Indoor Ficus Care Guide (Fiddle Leaf Fig, Rubber Plant, Weeping Fig & More) Ficus plants are classic indoor trees and foliage plants loved for their bold leaves and elegant structure. While generally hardy, they prefer stable conditions and can be sensitive to sudden changes in light, temperature, or watering. With consistency, Ficus plants grow into stunning statement specimens. 🌞 Light Prefers bright, indirect light Can tolerate some gentle morning sun Avoid harsh afternoon sunlight, which may scorch leaves Low light may lead to leaf drop or slower growth ✨ Tip: Ficus plants dislike being moved often — choose a bright spot and keep them there. 💧 Watering Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil feels dry Water thoroughly until it drains from the bottom Never allow the pot to sit in standing water Reduce watering during cooler months ⚠️ Overwatering is the most common cause of leaf drop and root issues. 🌱 Soil Use a well-draining indoor potting mix such as: Premium potting soil Perlite or pumice for drainage Optional: orchid bark for extra airflow Ficus prefer moisture-retentive soil, but with excellent drainage. 🪴 Pot Size Babies do best in a small to medium pot with drainage holes Repot only when roots begin to outgrow the pot Ficus prefer being slightly snug rather than overpotted 🌡 Temperature & Humidity Ideal temperature: 18–28°C Avoid cold drafts or sudden temperature drops Keep away from heaters or air-conditioning vents Average indoor humidity is usually fine, though higher humidity encourages healthier leaves 🌿 Fertilizer Feed during spring and summer Use a balanced liquid fertilizer at ½ strength Fertilize every 4–6 weeks Pause feeding in autumn and winter ✨ Tip: Too much fertilizer can cause leaf burn — gentle feeding is best. 🍃 Leaf Drop Note It is normal for Ficus plants to drop a few leaves when adjusting to a new environment. Sudden leaf loss usually indicates stress from changes in light, watering, or temperature. Consistency is key. ✂️ Maintenance Wipe leaves occasionally to remove dust and improve photosynthesis Rotate the plant every few weeks for even growth Prune lightly to encourage branching if desired 🐛 Pests to Watch For Ficus may occasionally attract: Spider mites Scale Mealybugs Inspect stems and leaf undersides regularly and treat early if needed. ⚠️ Pet Safety Ficus sap is toxic if ingested and may irritate skin. Keep out of reach of pets and children. 📦 Postage & Shipping Information All plants are carefully prepared and packaged to ensure they arrive safely and in excellent condition.
